ANIME! High Art – Pop Culture Exhibit , from Frankfurt to Denmark and now in L.A

This electrifying traveling exhibition explores the history, aesthetics and production of Japanese animation from its earliest beginnings up through the cinematic successes and popular heroes of the late 1970s serials, and on to the current computer and video game manifestations of this cultural phenomenon.

“ANIME!” illustrates the fascination of anime and its dramatic, and often breathtaking, visual language. On view are rare collectors’ items and artwork that has seldom been seen outside Japan.

A portion of the exhibition is devoted to manga and its relationship to anime, providing a historical overview of the development of this “comic book” genre from 19th century Japanese woodcuts and book illustrations to the mass-produced manga of the present.

In this exhibit there are five of my pieces largest pieces , approx 33x23 (A1) each , biggest pieces so far for me , and going to ebay auction when they come back home :)

Nike Dunks Campaign Manga

To launch the Dunks campaign in Asia and Europe , Nike contracted DK, to develop original comic pages, stories for print and signange.

Along with

Fernando Furukawa, Zwei and Nam Kim, I was one of the artists working on this project .

The finished body of work is being used for a variety of media and techniques: art prints; huge back-lit Manga wallpaper; and projected animation.




Studio 4c in Japan has also made some animated advertisement , for this campaign , awesome work by Morimoto san
